Q&A with Jason Bergh & Sal Masekela, moderated by Ben Lyons, of Extra & ESPNSal Masekela, action sports television host (Red Bull Signature Series, ESPN  X Games) returns home to San Diego with his film Alekesam. Sal is the face and voice of Action Sports, and an actor and singer. He’s also the son of the famous South African jazz musician, Hugh Masekela, who was exiled from his family and native South Africa for more than 30 years as a direct result of apartheid. Undaunted, he would find musical success in late ‘60s America. Alekesam explores the story of a father exiled from his country, a son exiled from his father, and their mutual attempt to connect to the world, and each other through music.
